Thank you to the @WLancsCollege for coming along to the Ask Club at the Skelmersdale Ecumenical Centre, to register locally situated people seeking asylum and refugees.

Many thanks to Alan and Debbie who carried out the language assessments and coordinated the registrations.

Everyone who came along this afternoon, to @jmosportspark from the Ask Club – Skelmersdale Ecumenical Centre, had a great afternoon playing football. Many happy, smiling faces. Thanks to all the JMO staff for being so welcoming.

Skelmersdale & West Lancashire welcomes refugees.

This morning, we welcomed Year 10 @UHHSchool students into our magnificent Motor Vehicle workshop, in which FMCG brought in a Formula 1 car for the students to practice tyre changes on 🏎️

A great morning was had by all! πŸ˜ƒ

Today is a sad day. Many aspects of the Nationality and Borders Act come into force, including those that treat refugees differently depending on how they entered the UK, criminalisation of people entering the UK to seek asylum, and measures that increase barriers to protection

The Ask Club, at the Skelmersdale Ecumenical Centre, passed on two more donated bicycles to locally situated people seeking asylum.

#RefugeesWelcome

Concerned about it & critical of gov approaches with it. But one of the absolutely bloody amazing things Homes For Ukraine has achieved is the seismic expansion in our movement.

The orange heart is so much bigger & brighter for it.

Thank you incredible hosts 🧑

Friday cheer tweet: Met with a group of hosts for #homesforukraine. In all the difficult news it was uplifting to see a fresh army of people who care enough to open their homes.

This programme if fraught with difficulty & risk, but it’s also full to the brim with kindness.

Skelmersdale United pre-season starts in two weeks time when Lancaster City are the visitors to the JMO Sports Park on Saturday July 2nd with a 3pm ko.
